Case Study
King Edward VI Sports Centre
Bespoke fire door installations for a new school sports centre, delivered under pressure and completed to full compliance standards.

Project Overview
Fireco Solutions partnered with Robertson Construction to deliver the fire door installation package for the new King Edward VI Sports Centre in Morpeth. This major development included a brand-new sports hall and associated facilities for the school, requiring a high level of compliance and coordination. Our scope covered the installation of 60 bespoke fire-rated door sets, all tailored to meet the project’s specific design and safety requirements.
The Challenge
Delays in manufacturer deliveries created significant pressure on the programme, with critical areas still requiring completion as the project approached the Christmas shutdown. Maintaining momentum without compromising quality or compliance was essential to meet handover expectations.
Our Solution
To overcome these delays, Fireco Solutions increased on-site resources and maintained installation works right up to Christmas Eve. Our team worked efficiently and collaboratively with the main contractor to complete all outstanding fire door installations within the required timeframe, ensuring standards were never compromised.
The Outcome
Despite programme constraints, Fireco Solutions delivered the fire door installation package in full, achieving compliance and certification in line with project requirements. The works were completed on schedule, supporting a successful handover and ensuring the new facility met all fire safety standards for occupation.
